October 2017 - Knockout Fight League
by Maxamilian Demian on Oct 24, 2017
Once again we have another Knockout Fight League show this month. This time we had 3 fighters on the card. Adam Lynn's Subfighter also had 2 fighters on the card.
First up was Dan Perez coming off a decision loss in his last fight. There's not much to say as he took his opponent down and submitted him with a rear naked choke in just over 30 seconds.
Next up was Andre Hudson, coming off wins in his first 2 fights. He fought 6'4" Jovan Williamson (who Dan Perez lost to in his last fight). Andre had a dominant first to rounds with big slams and a lot of ground and pound. Outside of an armbar scare in the first, he swept those rounds. Then in the 3rd, he ate a long straight punch that melted him. He tried to continue fighting, but the ref called it as he was on auto pilot at that point.
Then Adam Lynn had his first fighter up — Diana Mendoza — in her first MMA fight. After a scrappy first round, she won via 2nd round RNC (if I recall correctly).
Geoff Mellor was up next for Adam Lynn and won a dominant decision in every part of the fight.
Last up, we had Marc Holguin in his first MMA fight, also winning a dominant decision in a standup war with a few nice slams.
The fight descriptions are kind of short and dull, but there's not a lot to say about most of the fights. Aside from Andre's fight, they were all one-sided and nothing much to worry about once it became clear that the fighter representing team Subfighter had things on lock.
Bonus picture:
- Danny Sanchez winning a unanimous decision in a rematch for the CAMO state title. They main evented the last KFL where his opponent won the title and main evented this one again. Both times they were fight of the night and with a 1-1 record against each other, they are probably going to main event the next show for the rubber match — and I'm sure everyone is excited to see them go at it again!
