Last Saturday night was another Knockout Fight League show. We had 4 guys fighting on the card this time.

First up for the team was Carlos Ardines. He is coming off of a 22 second RNC win in his last fight. He had a dominant first round, taking his opponent down and ground & pounding him for the majority of the round. The second and third rounds were a lot of inactivity from Carlos due to running out of gas and it ended up letting his opponent come back in the last 2 rounds to take a decision.

Second up was Salvador Elizararez, coming off of a dominant decision win in his last fight. This fight went like his last fight, getting takedowns and ground & pounding for 3 rounds en route to a decision win.

Third up was Benjamin "Benji" Blanton. This was his first fight since joining our team. At the start of the round, everything went perfect to our gameplan. Stay long, get the takedown when he overcommits to close the distance, work to the back and finish with an RNC. Benji got all the way to the back and was working the RNC when his opponent tried to just stand up. Benji had a brain-fart moment and instead of staying on the back and breaking him back down, he let go and got cracked with a haymaker as his opponent turned back into him. This was the beginning of the end leading to a 1st round TKO loss. It sucks, but we've gone over what happened and are working to make sure that mistake never happens again.

Last up was Andre "AJ Mana" Hudson. He fought a 3-round war that looked like non-stop scrambling. Fortunately, most of the scrambles ended up with Andre on top and leading to him winning a decision.

So we went 2-2 for the night. Not the worst, but still far from how we wanted the night to go. For now, it's back to the gym to make sure we leave our next even with 0 losses!
